Things To Do Around Bloomington This Fall!
There’s a nice snap in the air already, the leaves are starting to turn and there’s plenty to do around our great town! Here are some ideas for upcoming weekend trips:
--Ever been to the McLean County Museum? It’s loaded with history you might never have known about…Lincoln walked its halls when it was still a functioning courthouse, for one thing. Find out about the immigrants who settled Bloomington, including central Illinois’ thriving Jewish community from the 19th century. Route 66 buffs will love a trip to this museum, as there’s a trove of Route 66 lore on hand.
--The kids will love the Sugar Grove Nature Center’s Autumn Celebration, which will be on Oct. 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This harvest-themed festival includes live music, food, historical reenactments and other great fun for the whole family.
--Aviation buffs will enjoy a trip to the Prairie Aviation Museum. This small but interesting museum features well-preserved USAF aircraft from over the years, and is staffed by friendly and informative docents.
--Bloomington’s Community Theater stages well-loved plays regularly, including classic and contemporary dramas, comedies and musicals. It’s a great place for citizens of the Bloomington-Normal area to experience live theater!
--The Festival of Trees will be held on November 18-20 and features Breakfast with Santa, Avanti’s Family Night, food, music, a Senior Day and much more. The Festival of Trees benefits The Baby Fold.
There’s so much to do around our area – why not go out and take advantage of some of the fun this fall?
